A luxurious moment savoring Kobe beef steak with top-floor views.
"Teppanyaki Ittetsu" sits on the top floor of Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo, commanding a sweeping view of central Tokyo, Tokyo Tower included.
Just about a two-minute walk from Shimbashi Station, it lets you enjoy teppanyaki in a calm space wrapped in warm, gracious hospitality.
The highlight is the Kobe beef, grilled with the chef's honed skill and experience: seared to a fragrant crust that locks the umami and juices inside. The cooking that unfolds right before you and the dynamic flambé performance are pleasures found only at Ittetsu.
Spend a special moment with someone dear to you, accompanied by fine food, fine views, and the vivid immediacy of teppanyaki.
Among the wide selection of courses, two stand out: the "Nadeshiko (a Japanese pink flower) Course" at 28,800 Yen (tax and service charge included), which lets you savor Kobe beef — praised as one of Japan's three great Wagyu brands and adored by many — and the "Ittetsu Course" at 51,800 Yen (tax and service charge included), which goes further with treasures of the sea such as live domestic black abalone and live domestic Japanese spiny lobster. There is also a seven-dish course at 15,400 Yen available only on Sundays and public holidays, and the contents of every course change monthly.
Grilled right before your eyes, the Kobe beef gives off an exceptional, appetite-stirring aroma. Exquisite heat control draws out its full character, making the tender texture and mellow umami stand out all the more. Please take your time and savor this luxurious taste to your heart's content.
The à la carte menu lets you enjoy dishes one by one, with your choice of beef — Kobe beef, Sendai beef, top-grade Kuroge Wagyu (Japanese Black beef) and more — available from 100g. Seafood such as Japanese spiny lobster and abalone can also be ordered as individual dishes.
The flambé the chef performs right in front of you is a piece of theater unique to teppanyaki, memorable for the power of the flames as they leap up and for the aroma they release. Watching a dish come together up close is itself a special experience that stays with you.
Drinks are plentiful too — wine by the glass, champagne, sake and beer — and pairing them with the food brings extra color to a blissful few hours.
"Teppanyaki Ittetsu" is located on the top floor of Dai-ichi Hotel Tokyo, with Tokyo Tower in view beyond the windows.
It connects directly to "Shimbashi Station" on the JR and Tokyo Metro Ginza lines via the Uchisaiwaicho underground walkway, so you can reach it without getting wet even on rainy days — a real convenience.
The chic interior, built around black tones, carries a Japanese sensibility given a contemporary twist, and lets you spend calm, unhurried time while taking in the view of central Tokyo. Private rooms are available as well, making it a good choice on days when you want to relax without worrying about other eyes.
Kobe beef and the treasures of the sea are only the start: the views over Tokyo and the attentive service all add to a special dining occasion.
