Inventive French cuisine to savor in Aoyama — Restaurant Reims Yanagidate
Tucked away in a quiet corner of Aoyama, Restaurant Reims Yanagidate offers authentic French cuisine in a calm setting that lets you forget the bustle of the city.
The “Reims” in its name comes from the village that is home to “Boyer,” in France’s Champagne region — a place of fond memories where owner-chef Isao Yanagidate trained. While carrying on the techniques and spirit of French cuisine, he pursues dishes that resonate with Japan’s climate, its four seasons, and the human heart. Working earnestly with seasonal ingredients, he serves inventive dishes that bring fresh surprise and discovery with every visit. Paired with an extensive selection of Champagne, an evening here is certain to make a special day shine and to offer time of the finest quality.
Our recommendation is the “Chef’s Omakase Course featuring seasonal ingredients,” 22,000 yen (incl. tax). Made with seasonal ingredients delivered that day, its 12 courses change according to what has been sourced and the time of year.
For an even more luxurious experience, we recommend the “Dégustation Course featuring the chef’s finest selected ingredients, caviar, and foie gras,” 33,000 yen (incl. tax). Comprising 14 courses including the house specialty “Magic Caviar Surprise,” each beautifully plated dish is adorned with seasonal herbs and edible flowers — a special course that evokes the arrival of each season alongside the flavors of the moment.
At lunchtime, the offerings range from an authentic chef’s omakase course to lighter ways to enjoy French cuisine. Alongside the “Chef’s Omakase Course featuring seasonal ingredients” at 14,300 yen (incl. tax), lunch courses start from 7,700 yen (incl. tax).
Dinner is just as appealing, with courses to suit your budget and occasion starting from 13,200 yen (incl. tax). Dishes incorporating ingredients unique to the season take on a different character throughout the year, so every visit brings an encounter with fresh flavors.
Feeling the passing of the seasons through the cuisine is one of the restaurant’s signature charms, making it a fine choice not only for special occasions but whenever you wish to savor the tastes of the season.
About a one-minute walk from Exit B2 of Omotesando Station. Though just off Aoyama-dori, it sits along a greenery-lined approach, wrapped in a stillness hard to believe is in the heart of the city.
The restaurant has its own wine cave, stocked with a wide selection of Champagnes carefully chosen to pair with the cuisine.
The dishes served in this refined space are striking for their colorful presentation, incorporating seasonal herbs and edible flowers. Beautiful plates that seem to announce the season let you enjoy the four seasons not only through taste but with the eyes. The calm interior lends itself to a wide range of occasions, from anniversaries to business dinners. Why not spend an elegant, memorable time here with someone dear to you?
