A well-loved Soba restaurant that is loved throughout the ages
From a Soba restaurant 'Asanoya' that began operations in the early Meiji period, 'Ginza Asanoya Higashi Ikebukuro' continues to carry the tradition and culture of its predecessor. The restaurant's specialty is its Soba from Hokkaido, which is pesticide-free, and its Soba sauce which has no added chemicals or preservatives. Please enjoy the natural taste of each ingredient. At this restaurant, there are two types of Soba available; 'nama kona uchi' (raw flour pounding) and 'inaka soba' (country side soba). 'Kikouchi' noodles are finely ground and chewy, whilst 'country side soba' is coarsely ground letting customers enjoy the simple way in which the soba is made; made with just soba flour and water. The Japanese Sake and seasonal dishes available are also exceptional. Please visit this hideaway restaurant in which Soba lovers and Japanese sake lovers from all across Japan gather.
Our specialty soba with our specialty dipping sauce. Our sauce is made from carefully selected ingredients and Bonito soup, combined with our 'kaeshi' from which has been passed down through the generations. Our Kamo Tsukune Seiro ( Duck Tsukune Seiro) uses only duck roast meat and this is carefully prepared in store. The dish contains lots of our specialty duck Tsukune and is a dish sure to impress. The tempura served uses the finest amber-colored sesame oil. The taste of the sesame brings out the flavor of the fresh seafood and the vegetables. There is also the 'Ebi Tendon ' (shrimp tendon') which is paired with a slightly sweet and salty sauce and rice, and the Special tempura selection which uses a balance of seafood and vegetables, available.
Another charm point of the restaurant is its lineup of alcoholic beverages. The store stocks rare and hard-to-find types of alcohol to new brands. Please also try the original Shochu 'Asanoya' made from sweet purple potatoes from Kumamoto prefecture. How about pairing drinks from all around Japan with the dishes? The Grille duck goes exceptionally well with alcohol. Again, the 'before soba menu' of 'grilled Miso' is not to be missed. It pairs well with any type of alcohol and is a good company until your Soba dish is ready. There is also a dish with a small amount of soba available to finish your night.
Located on the B1 Floor of the Rise Arena Building, which is connected directly to Higashi Ikebukuro station of the Yurakucho line. This hideaway restaurant is loved by those who wish to taste the real taste of Soba. The interior of the restaurant is relaxed, with its use of Japanese interior items such as 70-year-old chairs made from Sakura trees. The Soba flour used is procured from Hokkaido and is grown without the use of pesticides. The Soba made only with water and flour allows customers to enjoy the natural and simple taste of soba. Please visit and try it. Why not visit and enjoy the soba, as well as the wide range of alcoholic drinks and dishes, and experience a special time here?
