Savor the Spirit of Ichigo-Ichie: A Sensory Journey Through Traditional Japanese Cuisine
Nestled just a 4-minute walk from Ushigome-Kagurazaka Station, Kuzushi Kappo KURIYA is a serene kappo-style restaurant offering masterfully crafted seasonal Japanese cuisine. While rooted in classical washoku traditions, the chef creates dishes that highlight the freshest ingredients of the moment, making every visit a once-in-a-lifetime dining experience. Each course showcases not only taste but also presentation, tableware, and storytelling—offering an immersive cultural experience. Enjoy a deeply personal moment of Japanese hospitality in an intimate, modern-Japanese setting.
KURIYA serves one-of-a-kind dishes using the freshest seasonal ingredients—there is no printed menu. Instead, the chef offers omakase courses tailored to each guest's preferences: ¥8,000 / ¥10,000 / ¥12,000 (tax excluded). A premium course featuring Wagyu and other delicacies is also available at ¥15,000. Drink orders are requested alongside the course. Each plate is a work of precision and artistry, reflecting the essence of Japanese omotenashi (hospitality) and elevating dining into a poetic, memory-rich experience.
One of KURIYA’s hidden gems is its hot pot selection, which changes with the seasons. Past creations include luxurious foie gras hot pot, alongside hearty fish or meat-based teishoku (set meals) and seasonal kamameshi (clay pot rice). Each dish is an expression of the chef’s artistry and seasonal philosophy.
For lunch, a special StayPlus-exclusive omakase course is available at ¥6,000 (excl. tax). Whether lunch or dinner, KURIYA invites you to experience the beauty and depth of Japanese cuisine in a truly elevated form.
Dining at KURIYA is as much about the journey as the food. With only counter seating, the atmosphere resembles a private tea room—intimate, curated, and filled with personal touches. The chef is also a collector of artisanal tableware and selects each dish's vessel to match the flavor and feeling. You’ll hear stories about the ingredients, the preparation, and the spirit behind each course—creating not just a meal, but a cultural dialogue. KURIYA is a hidden gem for those seeking an unforgettable, connoisseur-level Japanese culinary encounter.
