Authentic Modern French Cuisine to Enjoy Casually in Nakameguro

Nestled in a quiet area of Nakameguro, Schola is a restaurant where creative cuisine blends seasonal ingredients with French techniques. As its name—meaning “school” in Latin—suggests, Schola operates as a French restaurant-style training establishment.

Carefully selected seasonal ingredients such as game meat and fresh seafood from across Japan are transformed into remarkable dishes through the collaboration of professional chefs and trainees.

The restaurant also boasts an extensive wine selection, with pairings curated by a senior sommelier to complement each course. Ideal for dates and special occasions, Schola is a perfect choice for adults seeking to enjoy a relaxed and refined dining experience in a calm atmosphere.

Dinner at Schola follows a simultaneous start at 7:00 PM, featuring the main Dinner Course priced at ¥11,000 (tax included).
The seven-course menu begins with amuse-bouche and appetizers, followed by fish, meat, and dessert.

A standout feature is the wide variety of game dishes—such as venison and wild boar—prepared with care to eliminate any gaminess while preserving their refined flavors. Served through diverse techniques like braising and roasting, each dish highlights the robust character of the ingredients.
Seafood is sourced directly from Ehime Prefecture, and the course is thoughtfully balanced from start to finish, offering both visual elegance and depth of flavor.

This creative, seasonal course delivers high satisfaction, especially for first-time guests.

  • Selection from an extensive wine list

  • Wide variety of non-alcoholic drinks

  • Pairing curated by a senior sommelier

Another highlight of Schola is its Wine Pairing option, priced at ¥6,600 (tax included).
Carefully selected by a senior sommelier, each wine is chosen to match the unique character of every dish, ranging from light and fruity whites to rich, full-bodied reds.
For example, a fruit-forward red wine may be paired with a game dish to enhance its depth and richness.
These thoughtfully crafted pairings offer an authentic marriage of food and wine at a reasonable price.

Guests may also opt for half-size pairings or increased pours, allowing them to tailor the experience to their preferences and pace—an appealing flexibility for wine lovers.

  • Welcoming entrance with a refined atmosphere

  • Counter made from a 400-year-old camphor tree (Kusunoki: Japanese camphor tree)

  • Spacious table seating

  • Fully open kitchen with a sense of live performance

Located a seven-minute walk from Nakameguro Station, Schola offers convenient access while providing a serene dining environment. The interior is softly illuminated and designed with warm wood tones, creating a calm and inviting atmosphere.
Generous spacing between tables allows guests to dine comfortably without distraction. Counter seats offer a front-row view of the chefs’ meticulous craftsmanship, making them especially popular.

The restaurant is well suited for anniversary dinners and business occasions, and is beloved by adults who appreciate quiet, refined dining.
The exterior features a simple, sophisticated design that feels welcoming even for first-time visitors.
An ideal destination for those seeking a relaxed yet elegant dining experience.
